Kosa<\/strong>: Lies that they tell our children is your<\/em> 13th album \u2013 are you superstitious?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: Not really. Honestly there are some things that deserve trepidation, but when you\u2019ve made this many records your learn that the universe does whatever it wants with your art. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

After 30 years as a band and 13 albums under your belt do you even still get excited when the album
is released?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2, Anti-Flag: Absolutely. We have worked very hard to ensure that the 4 of us believe in these songs and believe in this band. And frankly we don\u2019t give a fuck if anyone else does. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

What would you wish for when blowing candles on your 30 year band birthday cake?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: The same thing we always wish for. The alleviation of suffering from our collective lives.  <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Is this anniversary in any way important to you, and did it make you reminiscence about the past
with all the turning points in your career, all the ups and downs and if yes, could you share some of
them with us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: Yes and no. We are always looking back at what we\u2019ve done. The intention is to stay in the moment and focus on the work ahead, but there are valuable lessons in all of our pasts we can learn from to make us better stewards of the immediacy. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Your last record is full of quest appearances. Where there any instructions that they were given
before the recording to fit your style, or they were free to express themselves in any way?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: We gave them demos of how we would\u2019ve sung it, but let them do their own thing. We wanted them because of who they are and what their art means to us.<\/strong><\/em> <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In your interviews there\u2019s a lot talk about the ideas behind your songs, but I\u2019d say that there\u2019s
relatively little time dedicated to music. Doesn\u2019t that in any way hurt you as music creators?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: Not really. These issues are what we are passionate about. We never see fault in letting passion lead the way. <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Because of social media and the way media works today, more and more people are living in their own information bubbles, sometimes going out of their way, not to get exposed to ideas that would influence their already set in stone worldview. Having that in mind, don\u2019t you feel like you\u2019re preaching to the quire more and more and where do you find the will to go on, as you\u2019re already 30 years doing this
and there were not that many significant changes in the world for the better?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: There is immense value in both finding new people to be a part of social movements that strive for economic, racial, and environmental justice\u2026 but there is so much to gain from \u201cpreaching to the choir\u201d, we learn from each other, we pump each other up, we give each other the strength and energy to keep the fight going and hope alive. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On that note, were there any times during all those years when you seriously doubted the sense of
what you\u2019re doing?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris #2: Doubt is real and always prevalent. Which is why you can\u2019t view activism in wins and losses. And also why in your last question it\u2019s so important to find your people and champion one another. Always<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
